On Sunday 13th July, over 80 Scouts, parents, and friends from Wardle Scout Group and Smithy Bridge Scout Group came together for an unforgettable day of adventure, community, and achievement — completing a combined 500 miles of hiking in support of upcoming international trips to Ardèche, France (2025) and PGL Paris (2026).
From the youngest Squirrels and Beavers, who tackled a scenic 2-mile loop around Withens Clough Reservoir, to the determined Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers, who conquered a challenging 10-mile trek from Blackstone Edge to Withens Clough, every participant showed true Scout spirit — walking with purpose, supporting one another, and smiling every step of the way.
🎯 Perfect Timing, Perfect Teamwork
In a moment that captured the heart of the day, both hiking groups met up just 300 metres from the finish line, arriving together in a show of unity and brilliant organisation. It was a proud reminder of what makes our Scout Group so special.
